Cathedral Youth Ministries Foster Spiritual Growth

Download the Fall Youth Calendar

Cathedral Youth Ministries encourages the spiritual growth in our young people by sharing the love of Christ within our community and beyond. The youth ministry is focused on Formation, Outreach, and Community, with our programming designed with each of these in mind. This focus has provided a clear vision of what is essential to and for our students. Sunday school is key in this process, but spiritual formation happens in many different contexts outside of the Sunday school classroom, including weekly bible study gatherings of Seed Group and Friday High School Fellowship. Because we believe that youth are our present leaders, we provide leadership development opportunities through the Youth Ministry Council. We continue to strive to build relationships and community at national and diocesan events like Happening and Episcopal Youth Event. Cathedral-sponsored mission trips have sent both youth and adults to Baton Rouge, Rockport, and most recently, Costa Rica. We are a community where questions are asked, relationships are built, and we see the light of Christ in others. For more information, contact Minister for Youth Marcia Quintanilla.

    Marcia Quintanilla

    Minister for Youth
    713-217-1349 |

Marcia was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and is of Salvadorian descent. She is a cradle Episcopalian, and all her formation has taken place in the Diocese of Texas. Her passion for youth and young adult ministries has been rooted in her involvement in diocesan and national conferences around the church. Her focus for youth and young adult ministry has driven her to pursue her bachelor’s degree in psychology, which she plans on using to further excel her understanding in youth ministry. She also serves as the youngest and only Latina active member of the Standing Committee in the Diocese of Texas. She has a 11-year-old daughter, Jaylah, who brings so much light to her world. Marcia loves CrossFit, spending time with Jaylah, and listening to Salsa!

Stewardship and Giving: Support Cathedral Ministries

Generously responding to God’s gifts is a reflection of spirituality and recognition that we are the stewards of his bounty. It is a way of life — something we do day in and day out.

There are many ways to make financial gifts to support the ministries, pastoral care, education, vitality, and growth of Christ Church Cathedral. We are grateful to donors who graciously make one-time gifts, annual pledges, ongoing planned giving, and who find other ways to offer their help forwarding the work of our ministries.

Learn more about how you can get involved and support the Cathedral, or offer your time as a volunteer.
