Support Through Life-Changing Events

It is estimated that about a third of the recorded sayings of Christ were embedded within parables. It is through the parable of The Good Samaritan that we find a model of discipleship which offers compassion and care to the wounded travelers of life.

The Good Samaritan draws attention to the fact that throughout its history, the church has been a source of support and consolation to those weary travelers who often suffer through complex and intricate seasons of the soul.

Throughout our journeys in life, we too will encounter family, friends, and yes, even strangers, who require support and care.

If you find that you are going through a difficult time in life, a transition, a health issue, or a loss, we encourage you to reach out to Christ Church Cathedral for help and support.

To receive pastoral care support for yourself or a loved one, please contact Minister for Pastoral Care, Claire Soard at [email protected].

To reach a priest for an emergency during nonworking hours only (evenings and weekends), please call 713-826-5332 (English) or 832-330-6276 (Español).

If you would like the Cathedral to pray for you or for someone else, you may fill out a prayer request form here.

Stewardship and Giving: Support Cathedral Ministries

Generously responding to God’s gifts is a reflection of spirituality and recognition that we are the stewards of his bounty. It is a way of life — something we do day in and day out.

There are many ways to make financial gifts to support the ministries, pastoral care, education, vitality, and growth of Christ Church Cathedral. We are grateful to donors who graciously make one-time gifts, annual pledges, ongoing planned giving, and who find other ways to offer their help forwarding the work of our ministries.

Learn more about how you can get involved and support the Cathedral, or offer your time as a volunteer.
