Search Committee Update – Jan. 2023
By Will Randall
When the Search Committee meets each week, we start and end our meetings with prayer. It soothes the soul, reminds us of the importance of our task, and affirms our desire to work in unison with God as our Captain.
The Search Committee continues to develop and review the STAR questions mentioned in last month’s Update, and we have embarked on organizing these questions in a comprehensive interview format. An additional focus has also been made on creating a template to document our pre-screening reviews that will be conducted for each candidate to ensure a consistent approach is taken.
As you might imagine, the Search Committee is eager to start reviewing the prospective candidates, however we are still in the preliminary stages of the process. Once the procedures for the search process have been finalized, the Search Committee will begin review of specific candidates. The good news is that The Diocese of Texas indicates there are a number of people interested in the Christ Church Cathedral’s Dean position.
Although the initial stages of the Search Committee’s work have been filled with the administrative requirements on Diocese training, developing STAR questions, and establishing consistent interview procedures, the Search Committee is ready to begin reviewing the candidates. We continue to ask each of you for your support and prayers and know that our work continues in earnest.
