Good morning. We are Catherine and Will Randall and we are honored to be this year’s Every Member Canvass Co-Chairs. We are here this morning to give our testimonial, kick off the campaign and encourage each of you to dig deep and support our Christ Church Cathedral community.

When I think of a church community, it is hard for me to think of anything other than Christ Church. Some of my first recollections of church are crawling around under these pews. Baptism, confirmation, acolyting, marriage counseling – all with clergy and fellow parishioners that I felt were part of our family. Now, the cycle continues with our children and we are so thankful that they too are developing a strong relationship with our community. I know it will give them strength when they need it most.

Although our family is a direct beneficiary of so many of the wonderful opportunities at Christ Church, most of my personal participation has been passive. I have been quite content to listen to sermons and adult education and go about my way. My only additional involvement with the church is when someone has asked me. My loving bride is quite the opposite. She has taught Sunday school, chaired May Fete, been on Vestry and works with the altar guild. Not only is she is quite the volunteer, but she makes sure our children are active as well. She has flourished by being active!

My take away from this observation and what I want to emphasize today is that our church community is NOT a passive investment. The programs, staff, clergy, community outreach – the whole of Christ Church needs our support to continue. Each and every one of us is needed and our support actually helps us flourish. So be active in your support. We hope you will join us in making a pledge by Loyalty Sunday, November 13! Let’s leave no member behind in this canvass and we will all flourish! Thank you.

Every Member Canvass

The Every Member Canvass is our annual opportunity to pledge financial support to Christ Church Cathedral for the coming calendar year, a true investment in future mission and ministry. Doing our good work requires an investment of both spiritual and financial gifts. Sunday, November 13, is Loyalty Sunday, the day by which we hope to receive all pledges. It is vitally important that each and every Cathedral parishioner support the ministry of Christ Church with a stewardship pledge.

Ways to make your pledge:

Goal

To fully and responsibly fund the 2023 budget, the Vestry anticipates the Cathedral will need $3.7 million in parishioner pledges. Your support enables the Cathedral to care for those within our parish and beyond our walls in ways that make a real and direct impact. Please consider a gift that can truly make a difference.
