Cathedral Youth Ministries

BYC TreeCathedral Youth Ministries foster spiritual growth

by offering high-quality spiritual formation opportunities within the context of a supportive community of adult sponsors. Sunday school is key in this process, but spiritual formation happens in many different contexts outside of the Sunday school classroom including Sunday Night EYC, community and diocesan events, outreach and missions projects and leadership development opportunities. For more information, contact Jeremy Bradley at 713-217-1349.

During the School Year:

Sunday School

Sundays 10-11 a.m. in the Ballard Youth Center, third floor of the McGehee Building, aka The Treehouse

Youth Sunday School is a place to come together as a community and grow in our faith through teaching, discussion, and doughnuts.

Episcopal Youth Community (EYC)

Sundays 3-4:45 p.m. in the Ballard Youth Center, third floor of the McGehee Building, aka The Treehouse

Sunday afternoons we gather together for games, teaching, videos, and worship.

Branch Out

Thusdays during the school year, Jeremy Bradley and Christy Orman visit youth at area middle schools and high schools for lunch or a quick visit.

Recreation binds our community together. Through diocesan, convocational, and intergenerational events, we become more aware of our call to be one Church, one people united and made whole through faith.

Destination Unknown

Our popular Destination Unknown Lock-In for middle-school youth returns each May. This is an action-packed adventure where we will explore some of the exciting things Houston has to offer, while building up our community through fellowship.

In the past we have watched the bats on Waugh Drive, explored the Orange Show, played laser tag and gone bowling, and ridden box sleds downhill at Addicks Dam. The best part about the lock-in is that participants don’t know what they will be doing in advance. (But don’t worry, no one is ever disappointed.)

Drop off is at 5 p.m. on May 12 with pick up at 10:30 a.m. on May 13, both at the Cathedral Treehouse.

The cost for the lock-in is $40 and friends are always welcome to join us at any youth event. Financial assistance is available; contact Jeremy Bradley at 713-217-1349 for more information. Register here!
