Dear Cathedral Friends,
With gratitude and affection, I write to share the news that I have accepted a new call to serve as the rector of St. Luke’s on the Lake in Austin, Texas.
It goes without saying that I am going to miss you all something fierce. The last three years of ministry have been intense and challenging, but together we not only survived, but we also thrived. Shoulder to shoulder, we met the moment with faith, commitment, and a good sense of humor. We adapted with grace. We comforted and cared for one another. And all along the way, we shared the joy of this cathedral family.
The calling of the Very Rev. Nathaniel Katz to serve as your 9th Dean and Rector is a testament to your resiliency and readiness to begin a new and holy adventure. You have called a leader who is profoundly grounded in God’s love, open to the Spirit’s leading and committed to nurturing your gifts as Christ’s Body at work in the world. I cannot wait to see the transformation you will create together.
My time with you has enabled me to grow as a priest and pastor. You have prepared, encouraged, and strengthened me for the ministry that awaits. I am so grateful for all that we have shared.
Please pray for the community of St. Luke’s on the Lake and for me and my family in this time of transition and know that you are and will remain in my prayers and in my heart.
God’s Peace
Kathy
