Volunteer for Casa Mateo Festival
Sunday, October 6: Special Guest Rev. Nancy Frausto
We welcome The Rev. Nancy Frausto, Director of Latinx Studies at the Seminary of the Southwest. Rev. Frausto will preach for the 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. services, and join us for a special edition of The Dean's Hour at 10 a.m. in Reynolds Hall. Following our 1 p.m. service, all are invited to our festival, an exhibition of traditional Latin American foods and dances. And if you wish, you may wear colorful and/or folkloric garments to help celebrate this important and fun event.
Saturday, October 12: Festival de Bienvenido at Casa Mateo
On Saturday October 12, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., we will have a celebration at Casa Mateo, where we will host a Festival de Bienvenida, or Welcome Festival, that afternoon for the residents and members of the surrounding community. Sunday, October 13: Special Guest The Very Rev. Daniel Vélez Rivera
For our closing Sunday of Mes de la Herencia, we welcome The Very Rev. Daniel Vélez Rivera, Vicar of St. Gabriel's~San Gabriel and Dean of the Northern Piedmont Region of the Diocese of Virginia. Dean Rivera will preach for the 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. services. Following our 1 p.m. service, all are invited to our festival, an exhibition of traditional Latin American foods and dances. And if you wish, you may wear colorful and/or folkloric garments to help celebrate this important and fun event.
