Gran Posada

Looking for connection, meaning, and celebration this Advent season? Join us on December 18 for a warming and enlightening Sancocho Supper. With friends from every service at the Cathedral, we’ll break bread together and enjoy sancocho, a traditional Dominican soup, as Jasminne Mendez, Dominican-American poet, playwright, translator and award-winning author of several books for children and adults, shares her work.

Mendeliz will provide the music, and we’ll have pinatas and seasonal treats for all ages. As we make room in our hearts and prepare to welcome the Holy Family, we’ll embrace the real spirit of the season as we experience powerful poetry and memoir, covering coming-of-age as the child of immigrants, living with chronic disease, and what it means to feel othered.
