Formation Hour: ​Norma Pimentel

Please join us on October 23 during Formation Hour at 10 a.m. as we welcome Sister Norma Pimentel, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley. Over the last several years, members of our Justice and Peace and Mission Outreach Councils have traveled to our Southern border to learn about the complexities surrounding the area and the people affected. They had the privilege of meeting Sister Norma at the Humanitarian Respite Center, which she opened in 2014. She has gained international attention and been praised by Pope Francis and others for her work with refugees and immigrants to the United States. In 2020, she was included on TIME Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world. We look forward to hearing from Sister Norma on how the Christian community can effectively respond to the needs of those impacted by this humanitarian crisis.
