June 15, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Compassionate Houston, a 501c3 nonprofit, will celebrate their 10th anniversary and honor their founder, Rev. Betty Adam during their virtual event “Compassion Through the Arts.” You are invited to register and attend on June 15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Upon registering you will receive confirmation and, closer to the event, a link to attend.
From the organizer: The time seems right for our community to have our spirits elevated and reconnected and to grow our perspectives and appreciate our common humanity through the lenses of artists. These include Young People’s’ Poet Laureate Naomi Shihab Nye, Singer-Songwriter-Senior Minister Michael Gott, six gifted artists exploring compassion from Women in the Visual and Literary Arts (WiVLA) and well-known street artists with public art messages. Compassionate Houston was inspired by the Charter for Compassion’s principles of treating others with respect, encouraging appreciation of cultural and religious diversity, and cultivating an informed empathy with the suffering of all human beings.
