Join us 45 minutes before Evensong for a special organ recital featuring Special Guest Organist:  Ben Kerswell

Ben Kerswell completed his Master of Music in Organ Performance at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University under Ken Cowan. At St. Olaf College, he studied organ with Dr. Catherine Rodland. As a member of the St. Olaf Choir, he sang with the group, collaborated as an accompanist, and held the position of bass section leader.

Ben serves as Cantor (Music Director) of Christ the King Lutheran Church and Associate Artistic Director of Bach Society Houston. In June 2023, he took their Bach Choir to BachFest Leipzig, performing at Thomaskirche during opening weekend. They are the first professional American choir to receive an invitation to the festival.

An active recitalist, Ben performed as a Rising Star at the 2018 National AGO Convention in Kansas City and was a semi-finalist in the 2020 National Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance before its cancellation. He previously served as Organ Scholar at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas, and the Church of St. Louis, King of France in St. Paul, Minnesot
