Love Goes to Costa Rica – Day 9
Love Goes to Costa Rica – Day Nine
By Meg Bell
The 2024 Costa Rica mission trip has been a very great experience. Truly, there are very few things quite like it. I helped at the VBS, of course, but I have also met so many amazing people and had so much fun. It was nice to have an experience outside of my normal routine. The breakaway has been somewhat refreshing.
This trip has shown how taking service trips can be a positive experience and how great it can be to know that you’re in a community that is so connected and supportive of the efforts made.
Something that I hope I don’t forget soon is the VBS we held. My group of kids (HEROES) were so energetic and seemed to have a lot of fun. They especially liked the games and sports. It might have been tiring at times, but it was very much worth the effort. There was never a dull moment. This really impacted me, and I was taken back to when I would go to VBS and summer camps as a kid. It was always so much fun to meet new friends and see old ones, too. I’m glad that now that I’m older, I can give other kids those memories, too.
Something else I love about visiting Costa Rica is how pretty it is everywhere. It is VERY hot, but it is also really beautiful. I have seen the most stunning places, plants, and views. Yesterday, we went to a restaurant called “Red Snapper.” And it had the most gorgeous view of all Limón. I took so many photos of the skyline and distant mountains. Truly, this place has beauty everywhere I look.
I am really glad that I could come on this mission trip. I have met so many kind and helpful people, and it has been an amazing and unforgettable journey.
