Love Goes to Costa Rica – Day 8

Love Goes to Costa Rica – Day Eight
By Rene Amaya

It’s Sunday, July 7, and it has been a great trip. I was blessed with the opportunity to visit Costa Rica and see how God can work in the people and children of VBS. I also saw Costa Rica’s beautiful nature and how people live there. We visited Isaac’s family and saw how his new life would be moving back to Costa Rica.

It’s Sunday, and it is a significant day because we get to attend a church service at the church that gave us their space to use as a way to show the love and word of God, help the kids grow in faith, and learn together—of course, with the help of us, the Sidekicks!

As church concluded, I saw how different this service is. Instead of instruments, they sing acapella. The choir uses their voice to show their love and passion for the Lord. Today’s service was about how important faith is. And that no matter what you are going through, you should continue your faith in Jesus. Because if you don’t give up on him, he won’t give up on You! God is working tirelessly on us; it was great to witness that within my friends. I would see Court visibly very nervous about reading his word to the church. When it came to the moment, God worked perfectly to guide him into reading the word very well. God also helped Meg and Valeria to do the same thing. When the time for the final song was over, the people of the church continued singing, and I just thought that was very beautiful.

After lunch, I couldn’t help but stop and look at what God had created. Costa Rica is such a nice place. I can’t thank Marcia and God enough for this amazing opportunity to work for Him and help children in their faith.
