Hurricane Beryl Response: Comfort Calls
Our goals/messages for the calls are:
- To check in and see how they are doing coming out of the storm.
- If there is any support their Cathedral community can provide in the wake, including any specific prayer requests.
- If calls are being made before Friday, to invite folks to come out to our evening potluck.
We have created a Google spreadsheet to track the contacts we have made. If you are able to do so, please use that sheet to track your calls. We will be monitoring it and using it to direct any follow up that may be needed. You can access the Google Sheet by clicking on the button below:
This page on the Cathedral website contains information we have gathered on supportive resources in the Greater Houston Area: https://www.christchurchcathedral.org/outreach/
Please feel free to direct people to that page and/or have it available to provide information directly to people, as useful.
And here is information on our Friday gathering to have at the ready:
Hope Found through Fellowship – Friday, July 19
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Reynolds Hall
All are invited – parishioner, neighbor, family, and friend – to a neighborhood potluck as we gather, break bread, and check in with one another. The Cathedral will provide substantial items for a dinner spread, and if you’re able to bring something to share, the more the merrier; but please know that bringing a food item is by no means a requirement. Reynolds Hall will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and folks are encouraged to stop by as their evening allows.
The main course will focus on fajitas and all the fixin’s, but if you’re looking for an idea of what to bring, here is a quick alphabetical breakdown (using last names) that is more of a guideline than a rule:
A-F: Chips/Salsa/Guacamole
G-R: Side Dish/Salad
S-Z: Desserts
