The Treble Choir of Houston at Christ Church Cathedral is an acclaimed ensemble of young women grades 6-12 that provides outstanding musical training in a nurturing environment. They are the resident children’s choir at Christ Church Cathedral, singing regularly for service. The Treble Choir also performs concerts throughout the greater Houston area. Coming from widely diverse backgrounds, the young women of the Treble Choir are united in their pursuit of musical excellence within a supportive community.
The Choir’s mission is to help each singer realize her full potential as a person and as a musician. Self-esteem, confidence, and leadership skills are cultivated through an environment of love, respect, and support.
The Treble Choir was founded in 2006 by Marianna Parnas-Simpson. Some of the Choir’s highlights include performances at Carnegie Hall, the International Choral Festival in Powell River, British Columbia, and the Washington National Cathedral. Treble Choir was named a finalist in the 2021 American Prize National Competition, Youth Choirs Division. Treble Choir is extremely proud of its association with the Grammy award-winning Houston Chamber Choir and the opportunities this collaboration has given them, including the recording of Bob Chilcott’s cantata CIRCLESONG, released and distributed internationally by Signum Classics.
