Thank You from The Rev. Greg Seme
After completing his two-years as Curate for the Cathedral, The Rev. Greg Seme is transitioning into a new ministry role as the interim Vicar for St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Houston. He sent the following note of appreciation to the Christ Church Cathedral congregation:
Dear Beloved in Christ,
My family and I don’t have enough words to express our gratitude for the cathedral community.
The welcome we received from the beginning to this day makes us feel like an integral part of that community.
When we moved to Houston 2 years ago from Miami, we didn’t know how that new community was going to welcome us, but we must say that the way we were embraced gave us a sense of belonging.
We are witnesses of your dedications to the gospel of Jesus Christ and to the Cathedral. My family and I will truly miss you, but we are confident that although we will not be physically together, we will remain spiritually connected through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We pray that we can bring with us the same love and passion that all of you have shown to serve God and the community. We are committed to making the world know Jesus, not only through the word, but also through our works.
All of you will remain in our prayers and we ask that you keep us in your prayers.
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you these last two years. I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve you.
It was only through God’s grace and your support that we were able to have these two incredible years here at the Cathedral.
For many reasons we are leaving the Cathedral with great sadness, but you give us hope and strength to go out and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
My sisters and brothers in Christ, in closing, I leave you with the priestly blessing found in the book of Numbers.
“May the Lord bless you and keep you;
May the Lord look upon you with be gracious unto you;
May the Lord make his countenance upon you and grant you peace. “
Thank you. Best wishes to all of you.
With prayers, gratitude, and every blessing,
The Reverend Greg Seme and family
