Love Goes to Costa Rica: Day Two
by Zahara Delia Garza
I felt nervous about coming to Costa Rica because I will be away from home. I knew I was going to miss my friends and family but mainly my dogs, Prince and Lulu! Although I didn’t get some rest on the flight (thanks, Gabriel), I was grateful to God that we landed safely.
I was really excited to see beautiful nature and beautiful sites when I looked outside the airplane. We went to St. Mary’s and I learned that their priest has several churches that she leads and that the US Ambassador studied in Costa Rica. We also got information about some of the churches we will be visiting and some history about how the church was built, what they do and who visited the church before.
When I got to the hotel, the first thing I did was fall on my bed because I was so tired! Then, I decided to go sightseeing with Jaylah and Valeria. We saw the beautiful beach and took some pictures of the beach and the sky. Then, we decided to change to go swimming. We enjoyed that very much!
When we went to dinner I got the chicken fried rice with a salad and fries. Even though I am a very picky eater I enjoyed the food especially the rice after I added some hot sauce – it was the chef’s kiss and the fries were great! But before we left the dinner table Marcia asked us a question saying “Where have you seen God?” and people said some amazing things. I thought that I saw God in our safety – we got here safely on the plane and bus rides.
Then we had to introduce ourselves and what we’re looking forward to. I said I was looking forward to having fun! One person said that they’re looking forward to the experience, others said they’re looking forward to making memories, getting to know everyone, and another person said simply, going to bed!
