Artist Exhibition: Time and Tide
“Time and Tide” – An exhibition of paintings exploring connectivity across distance.
Artist Annette Palmer says “When I paint, I am pulling from my innermost feelings of being on the precipice of a vast expanse, and the means I have to keep up with loved ones on the other side, something which has always been, for me, a natural phenomenon in today’s transient society, however, this has recently been experienced by everyone.
My emotional land and seascapes explore distance, connectivity and forgotten means of communication which I present in a fusion of paint and experimental textures with elements of collage work, reflective elements and found objects.
I invite the viewer to dive in and stay a while.”
Originally from Scotland, Annette Palmer now lives in Magnolia, Texas where she creates her collectable fine art pieces for gallery exhibitions and private collections.
Since returning “home” to Texas in 2016, Annette has assumed the roles of art educator, gallery curator and writer as well as consistently working on her own drawings and paintings.
Her formal art education took place at Edinburgh College of Art/Heriot Watt University, in Scotland’s capital, graduating in 1989.Annette went on to travel, eventually running her own fashion company in Singapore.
