Karen was born and raised in Dallas, but after almost five years in Houston she has come to fully appreciate the Southwest Texas lifestyle and humidity. She studied at the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007. Karen began attending services at the Cathedral in 2013, and was baptized and confirmed in the spring of 2014. In previous professional roles, she has developed a broad set of skills with a focus on event planning and customer service. When not at work, Karen enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her Boston terrier, RootBeer.

Victoria Ludwin

Victoria (Torie) Ludwin works with the clergy and staff to connect members, newcomers, and the downtown community with the programs, events, fellowship, and service in abundance at the Cathedral. She has worked in marketing, advertising, and strategic communications for more than 15 years in Houston and New York.

Jeremy Bradley

Jeremy Bradley hails from Spring but now lives in the Montrose area of Houston. He graduated from the College of Biblical Studies with a B.A. in Christian leadership and biblical studies. Jeremy has previously served on the senior staff at Camp Allen and as a youth ministries intern and musician at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. Currently Jeremy is on the steering committee for Y.E.S. (a Diocesan middle school retreat), the Bayou City Service Corps, and the Conspire Conference. He is also a convocational leader for the Diocese of Texas Youth Commission, leads Midwinter (a high-school retreat for the diocese), and is a summer camp director at Camp Allen.

Monica Czausz

Monica Czausz was named the Cathedral organist at Christ Church in September 2015. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in organ performance at the Shepherd School of Music, where she studies under renowned professor Ken Cowan. Monica has been named as the first-prize winner in numerous competitions, including the 2015 American Guild of Organists Regional Competition for Young Organists (Region VII: Southwest), the 2015 Schweitzer Competition in the Young Professionals’ Division,  and the 2013 William C. Hall, 2012 L. Cameron Johnson, and 2011 Oklahoma City University Competitions. An increasingly sought-after recitalist, she was a featured performer at the 2015 Organ Historical Society National Convention in Western Massachusetts, the 2015 American Guild of Organists Regional Convention in Fort Worth, and the 2015 East Texas Organ Festival in Kilgore. Monica’s performances have been broadcast on WRTI Philadelphia, Classical 91.7 Houston, and KTRU Rice Radio.

KariAnn Lessner

KariAnn Lessner was born in Lansing, Mich., but did most of her growing up in New Mexico. She studied at McMurry University in Abilene with a concentration in Christian education. KariAnn has served in three parishes in the Diocese of Texas since 1997 and has served as the director of Y.E.S. (a diocesan middle-school retreat), as a convocational representative, and on the youth and children’s ministry assessment team of the diocese. She is also a Safeguarding God’s Children master trainer, directs Session E at Camp Allen, and co-directs both the Diocesan Intermediate Mission Experience and the Intermediate Retreat. Her husband Ron and her daughters Keatyn and Karsyn enjoy cooking as a family and epic lip-sync battles in the kitchen. (Spatulas make great microphones!)

David Simpson

A native Houstonian, David grew up at Christ Church Cathedral. He has over 35 years’ of broad experience in management consulting and the energy industry, specializing in strategy, development, financial management, capital budgeting, and performance management. His career has spanned every continent (except Antarctica…), having worked in over 25 countries as a global partner with one of the largest international accounting and management consulting firms in various leadership positions. David graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with both a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Business Administration, and has served on numerous non-profit boards. Prior to joining the Cathedral staff, he had served on the Stewardship council for five years. David and his wife, Rhonda, and son, Collins, are active members of the Cathedral.

Robert Simpson

Robert Simpson, AAGO, ChM, SMM, is Organist-Choirmaster at historic Christ Church Cathedral (Episcopal), Houston, Texas and Founder and Artistic Director of the Houston Chamber Choir. He also serves on the faculty of The Shepherd School of Music, Rice University as Lecturer of Church Music. An honors graduate of Brown University, Mr. Simpson was a student of Robert Baker at The School of Sacred Music, Union Theological Seminary and Michael Schneider at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, Germany. He has served as Adjunct Professor of Organ at Georgia State University and Senior Teaching Fellow at the University of Texas, Austin. Mr. Simpson earned the Associate and Choirmaster Certificates from the American Guild of Organists, receiving the S. Lewis Elmer Prize for attaining the highest test scores. He served as Vice Chair of the Standing Commission on Church Music for the Episcopal Church and on the Editorial Board of the African American hymnal Lift Every Voice and Sing II.
