For twenty-eight years the Cathedral Bookstore has provided a first rate selection of books for adults, youth and children and the best cards to be found anywhere. It also stocks an array of Hymnals, Prayer Books and Cathedral Crosses in both gold and silver, as well as a vast collection of spiritual readings. Now bigger and better than ever, with a terrific used book section, the bookstore volunteers will find and order all your literary needs.
With five distinctive gardens, the Cathedral offers a magnificent welcome to all who wish to enjoy their beauty. They are truly havens for the downtown community. The Bishop’s Garden, the Cleveland Courtyard, the John Logan secret garden on Fannin and the Children’s Huffington Courtyard surround our Cathedral complex with towering oaks, seasonal flowers and much more. Across San Jacinto, Nancy’s Garden, our newest green space, welcomes one and all.
The Cloister Restaurant
The Cloister is a downtown institution and one of the city’s most cherished lunchtime haunts. Jamie Mize and Dan Tidwell have been feeding Houstonians out of Reynolds Hall (the Great Hall) since 1981 and the famous Treebeard’s fare brings hundreds to our campus every weekday.
The Cloister Gallery
With a new exhibit each month, Reynolds Hall (the Great Hall) is a perfect venue for artists and a treasure for Cathedral regulars. Jeanne Roth has chaired this effort since its inception and launched the careers of many painters and photographers. Each exhibit opens with a reception that brings new faces to our campus.
