Dean's Hour Summer Matinee

In bygone days, local television stations offered a Sunday afternoon matinee, when people could relax and watch a rerun of a good movie. This summer, we reprise some of the most beloved series from the Dean's Hour. Our matinees continue with "The Hero's Journey" series which was originally presented in the spring of 2016.

This event takes place in two parts, both hosted by Canon Vicar Kathy Pfister.

  1. The first part is via Facebook Live at 2 p.m. Join us for the Facebook Live portion at 2 p.m. here: https://www.facebook.com/cccathedraltx/live_videos/

  2. The second part is via Zoom at 2:50 p.m. Email Canon Pfister at for the Zoom link.

More about "The Hero's Journey":
Sir Galahad… Dorothy… Frodo… Luke Skywalker… All of these took the hero’s journey, which has been a hallmark of literature for centuries. But what does the hero have to do with Christianity? Dean Thompson takes us on the journey as we consider the heights and pitfalls of the hero’s way.

"The Hero's Journey" schedule:
July 12: Session 1
July 19: Session 2
July 26: Session 3
August 2: Session 4

Catch up or watch ahead with the full Dean's Hour series in the playlist below.
