In these challenging economic times, the face of homelessness is changing. As people lose their jobs, those who never expected to find themselves at a shelter are arriving at our doors. Each day, CHOM is serving more than 600 hungry, homeless people in great need. And we are doing more than feeding them; we are helping guide them to safety and self-sufficiency.
This year CHOM will serve more than 9,000 unduplicated individuals. We recognize that these are difficult financial times for all of us. However, when we consider those who are homeless, our troubles, by comparison, fade. With roofs over our heads, we are the fortunate ones, the ones to whom much has been given and thus much is required. We are asking in the spirit of compassion for your support, so we can continue helping the homeless living in our community.
