    Christ Church Cathedral seeks a part-time, experienced digital and social media manager to use digital tools to foster community and awareness, encourage participation in/attendance at church services and events to members as well as future visitors, give members tools with which to invite others and digitally evangelize, and to strengthen spiritual connection via online media.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Manage Cathedral’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, including daily posting and event uploading
    • Create shareable content from Cathedral’s current content streams
    • Photograph and post to social media throughout Sundays and at some events
    • Upload, tag and file photography to in-house searchable photo archive
    • Manage the dean’s social media accounts
    • Create and schedule daily meditations in support of The Well service
    • Support efforts to foster a church culture that encourages social media participation by members and friends, whether in the pews or at home
    • Monitor analytics and report on content marketing metrics to reflect effectiveness of content strategy for social media, emails, website
    • Develop and maintain a social media content calendar, including gathering media support and writing caption copy that is clear, informative, excellent, and encouraging
    • Moderate and encourage appropriate user-generated content
    • Work with the Canon for Welcome and Evangelism to empower the Digital Welcome Team

     

    Job requirements:

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Mastery of social media
    • Organization skills
    • Awareness of social media trends
    • Ability to attend church events on weeknights and weekends
    • Familiarity with the church, preferably the Episcopal church
    • Understanding about how to craft consistent and creative on-brand content
    • Attention to detail
    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field — or comparable professional experience
    • Flexibility and strong problem-solving skills
    • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment

     

    Job skill preferences in:

    • Video creating/editing
    • Bilingual English/Spanish
    • Graphic design
    • Photography

    Pay:

    $20-$25/hour, based on experience
    15-20 hours/week
