Children in Our Worship Services
Children are welcome and are encouraged to participate fully at all Cathedral worship services. During the 9:00 a.m. Eucharist service all children are invited to the chancel steps for the Children’s Talk prior to the sermon.
Worship Bags, with activities just for children, are located at the Cathedral entrances. Bags contain a children’s service leaflet, a copy of Meet Agnus and some quiet toys to keep little ones busy.

Dear Marianna,
What a magnificent evening it was just a few hours ago! Conducting the Mahler 3 was indeed a career highlight and privilege for me, and when I think of the complexity and scope of the music and the sheer task of guiding the many required forces through such a demanding one hundred minutes of pedal to the metal, I shudder and grow weak at the knees! It was truly an experience I shall never forget and one that certainly delineates who you were before the experience and who you became afterwards.
I wanted to say “thank you” to you and to the Houston Treble Choir for participating in this rare musical event. I am well aware of the time commitment for you and the choir and the many hours of preparation it takes to learn and execute something of this magnitude. The children were brilliant, catching the spirit of what they were singing about and bringing Movement 5 into the realm of innocence and purity and giving our audience a brief interlude of lightheartedness in an otherwise fantastically deep hour and forty minutes. And, the logistics were flawless! The choirs looked so professional, and their discipline during the “seated” periods was spot-on perfect!! I am so appreciative, and so much in awe of your work with your ensemble.
Please relay to the young singers and to their parents my heart-felt feelings. They helped make this event something that all of us will undoubtedly use as an instrument of growth as, both, people and musicians. I thank you with a great deal of personal affection and admiration.
Most gratefully,
